Basketball

The Los Angeles Lakers took a 2-0 lead in their series with the San Antonio Spurs after a 101-71 drubbing of the defending champs. Obviously, the Lakers covered the line and the Under hit. Tony Parker led the Spurs with 13, yes 13, points. It was not a good night for the Spurs in any regard. Prior to the game I was speaking with Tmac by the Bay and he really felt the Spurs needed Game 1, after last night’s 30 point drubbing the 20 point lead the Spurs blew in Game 1 looks much more ominous. That being said, this is not unfamiliar territory for the Spurs and I don’t believe getting their dicks kicked in the dirt is going to do anything to their confidence. I expect the Spurs to bounce back and make a series ofd this yet. Game 3 is Sunday in San Antonio.

Tonights action: Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals is on the slate for today. The Detroit Pistons are 5 point favorites and the Total is set at 176. The series is tried, 1-1. Today’s game is in Detroit. The Celtics have yet to win on the road this post-season. They also had not lost at home, but that all changed the other night. These two teams have played once in Detroit this season, a January matchup that the Celtics won by 7. Does that give you confidence in the Celtics? If it does, I can quickly dissolve that confidence by pointing out the Celtics had the best road record in the NBA during the regular season, but as previously mentioned has yet to win a road game in the playoffs. Detroit is 4-2 ATS at home during the playoffs. The Celtics are 0-6 ATS on the road during the playoffs. I am taking the Pistons for 3-stars.

Charles Barkley paid his debt to the DA in Las Vegas and Sir Charles is now debt free. Way to go Charles, see ya at the tables in the near future!

Baseball

Doug Davis of the Arizona Diamondbacks won his start last night, his first since recovering from cancer surgery. Congrats to Doug Davis, inspirational to all! . . . The White Sox and Red Sox had their winning streaks ended last night. The White Sox lost at home to the Angels, the Red Sox lost in Oakland . . . The Indians lost their 7th straight game. Other long losing streaks: The New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals have lost 5 straight, while the Seattle Mariners have lost 4 straight.

I find this story amazing, so I am sharing it with you. Michael Fournier is jumping from a hot-air balloon from 25 miles above the earth, or about 130,000 feet. Keep in mind that airplanes reach crusing altitudes of about 30,000 feet. Fournier will be jumping from the stratoshpere. Amazing! Click Here to read the full story.
