The Boston Celtics took Game 1 from the Detroit Pistons, 88-79. Boston covered the 4.5 point spread and the Under hit. After leading by 1 at the half, the Celtics outscored Detroit by 11 in the 3rd quarter. Boston remains undefeated at home in the post-season. If you wish to see a good series, than it was imperative for the Celtics to win last night. I say that due to all of Boston’s post-season road trouble. Game 2 is Thursday in Boston.
Tonights action: Game 1 between the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers is tonight in Los Angeles. The Lakers are 7 point favorites and the Total is set at 196. The teams split their 4 games in the regular season, both winning at home, but with San Antonio going 3-1 ATS. That’s Against The Spread for those that don’t know. I am surprised the line is so high, are the Spurs going to feel the effects of a 7 game series? The Spurs also had a tough time getting to LA, being delayed in New Orleans for 11 hours due to plane trouble. The Spurs are closers, not necessarily openers. That said, I will take the Lakers minus the points tonight for 3-stars.
The NBA Draft Lottery was last night and the #1 pick went to the team with a 1.7% chance of getting the #1 spot, the Chicago Bulls. After the Bulls the picks go as follows: Heat, Timberwolves, Sonics, Grizzlies, Knicks, Clippers, Bucks, Hornets, Nets.

Labor news in the NFL where the owners opted-out of the current labor deal. What does it all mean? Who the fuck knows?!?! The current deal will end in 2011. 2010 will have no salary cap and there will be no Collective Bargaining Agreement after 2010. The Dean is saying that there will not be a disruption in play.
The Stanley Cup Finals start Saturday.
