Missouri, Florida and USC

I used to say this was the best football day of the year, but with the spreading out of games all the way until January 7 and with the removal of two of the best bowl games from the Jan 1 slate I can no longer make that statement. It is still a good day, but its not the same. Yesterday was not a good day either, mostly because of Air Force. I had them wrapped up in several different plays and they failed me. I failed myself in not only selecting, but going big with South Florida. Again, I failed to do the necessary research and I went into the game thinking that Oregon’s QB was going to be Loser Leaf’s younger brother Little Loser Leaf. Instead they play someone that has a brain and South Florida didn’t even show up. Don’t get me wrong, had I known about the QB situation I still would have taken the Bulls, but not for nearly as much. Kentucky was the right call for their game against Florida St. but it was the right call earlier before the line jumped because of the FSU suspensions. Fresno St. went according to plan and a late two-team parlay of Oklahoma St and Auburn salvaged the day.

Today I am backing off playing a bunch of games and instead am counting on the Gators to set me up with an increase in my pool so that I can go fairly large on USC this evening. I am playing the Missouri game at a 3-star rate, an the Gators at a rate not on the board. I am breaking ranks with the system in order to try and get back my pool back up to a place where I can do some damage. As of now I have lost half of my pool, and the majority of that is due to bad bets. Air Force was not a bad bet, BYU was not a bad bet, but S. Florida was, the Steelers this past weekend were; these are areas where I know I can improve and that improvement will come from doing more research and knowing all the details.
