Wisconsin Badgers +16

Wisconsin has covered 6 of the last 7 meetings with Ohio St. The Badgers have had a tough time stopping people, and suffered through a two week stretch of bad play that gave them their two losses. Ohio St. meanwhile is coming off a big win at Penn St. in a game that leaves a lot of questions about both Penn St. and Ohio St. The question about the Buckeyes is, ‘how good are they?’. I don’t know. What I do know is that 16 points is a lot to cover. Wisconsin should be able to score some points and this week is the first of three games that will allow Ohio St. to prove their worth.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons PK

I am a Cavalier skeptic. I just don’t believe in this Virginia team and when I see an opportunity such as this, with an above average Wake Forest team that has proven it knows how to win games, going to Virginia and all the Deacs have to do is win, I get excited. These two teams haven’t met since 2003, so there isn’t much to compare in terms of relevant past matchups. What does jump out at me is that Virginia has won some close games against teams that I don’t think are very good, and to top it off, they lost to a bad NC State team last week. The game should be close, and I like Wake’s winning attitude to carry them today.

Arkansas Razorbacks -5.5

South Carolina has had a tough time the past few weeks and it doesn’t get any better today. If Vanderbilt out-rushed the Gamecocks, what will Darren McFadden do to them? On top of that, the QB position for the Cocks is in a bad way. Arkansas’ two home losses are to Auburn and Kentucky, and I see South Carolina as not as good defensively as Auburn and not as good offensively as Kentucky. I don’t expect this game to be a blow-out, but 5.5 shouldn’t be too much trouble for the Razorbacks.

Washington Huskies -3

The Washington Huskies are the best 2-6 team in the country. This team plays hard all the time, but have been done in due to their opponents just being better than them. Today the tables are reversed. For the first time since Week 2, the Huskies are facing a team that they are better than, and they will win this game going away. Stanford did beat USC, I remember, but it will not help them today and Washington will not drop 7 games in a row. Hats off to Tyrone Willingham for making UW a competitor again. The wins aren’t showing this year, but they will in the near future.
